Welcome to KYC
We are glad you are here! Welcome to the KYC web site where I hope you will find the information and motivation you are looking for from our Blue Hill based Kollegewidgwok Yacht Club. We encourage you to explore the links to various club activities including our busy racing schedule, the active social calendar and, of course, the sailing school. The Kollegewidgwok Sailing Education Association is a not-for-profit organization that manages our sailing school that is open to members, their families and to non-members seeking first class, safe sailing instruction. The history of KYC dates back to the early 1920’s and is fascinating reading (so is the club newsletter, The Waterline!). This has always been a seasonal yacht club dedicated to sailing instruction for young people, racing among one design boats, and general recreational sailing, cruising and power boating. We are fortunate to be located in one of the most scenic and welcoming harbors on the coast of Maine. Visitors are welcome; we have gasoline, diesel and ice available at the club dock and moorings available for visiting yachts. Our club is led by a volunteer Council, its officers and by Manager Dave Danielson. Dave is supported by his able KYC dock staff and the sailing instructors of KSEA. Our members know that the staff is on duty 7 days a week from mid-June to Labor Day from 800h‘til 1800h and is here to serve you, your families and friends. You can reach KYC via VHF on channel 9 or by phone at 207-374-5581. Come join us for a great summer boating season! We’ll see you on the water or, as the House Committee says, at the “best little club house in Maine”! Rich Gurin,
