Registration for sailing school classes will be available around March 1, if all goes well. Dates for sailing sessions are being decided, and will be published here next week.

Annual Dinner

We are now accepting reservations for the annual dinner.  Please call the reservation line at 374.2411 and leave your name, the number of people in your party, as well as a callback number.  Please also note that children can NOT come to this event.  Finally, there is NO CAP so don't worry about not getting a spot!

 

Atlantic and 12 1/2 Series Race Results Posted

Look under the heading "Racing" and follow the link to race results.  After each series race, results will be updated on the website by the day following the race.

 

Ships Store Now Open!

You can now view select items from the Ships Store online by way of color pictures and some talented modeling from the KYC staff! Check it out under the heading "Ships Store" to the left.

Information for the Danforth Cup can now be found on the KYC website under the heading  "Racing."

There are three Cook's Night Out slots yet to be taken. Please contact Wendy Brown, at wendybrown@embarqmail.com, if you want to host a Thursday evening dinner. Check the calendar to see which days are still available.

 

Summer is Around the Corner

Here is a picture to make you smile. Summer is nearly here, and to welcome it there is a new look to the KYC web site. This home page will be used for news and announcements, so please consult it often. The calendar to the right, which can be filtered to see different kinds of events (KSEA, Cook’s Night Out, Races) has been updated for this summer, and will reflect any changes that are made to the schedule.

The latest issue of “The Waterline” has been mailed to the membership. Use the link on the left to view it as a pdf.

The KYC Membership Directory for 2009 has been mailed. Please check your information for accuracy and let Dick Gibson know of any errors or omissions. Likewise, please check your entry in the online member roster and send any corrections to gingerpeabody@gmail.com.

Dear Members, Friends and Those Who Just Happened on Us,

This lovely picture of our anchorage and Blue Hill at sunset welcomes you to our web site as warmly, we hope, as the club welcomes members, friends and those who just sail up Blue Hill Bay looking for an anchorage for the night. Follow the links and find out more about the club: its history, its sailing school, its calendar.

Of course, before you go one click farther you’ll want to know how to pronounce our name. If you already know, you can skip this part.

Kollegewidgwok: say “college,” then “widge” then “walk,” all as one smooth mouthful, without particularly accenting any one syllable. There are dissenters, even among members, who say “college-ah-widge-ah-walk,” but as the years go by the ahs and uhs are getting scarcer. One smooth word: Kollegewidgwok. If you are very curious about such things, you can read the club history and find out what it means.

Now that you speak the local language, onward!
